L'entrée au site se fait à partir d'une petite route
communale signalée à partir de la D520 au Cotterg, il y a un parking
sur place. On trouve tout de suite un multitude de fleurs sauvages.
To get to the site you will need to follow a little
communal road which is indicated from the Cotterg on the main D520
road. Then you will find loads of wild flowers straight away.
Il y a aussi des vaches qui entretiennent les herbes
du marais et qui empêchent les broussailles de se développer. On arrive
bientôt à un tour d'observation qui n'est ouvert que certains jours.
There are also some cows whose purpose is to keep
the marsh grasses under control and to prevent trees and shrubs from
taking over. Then we come to an observation tower that is not always
open.
Autrefois, la tourbe était exploitée et même enlevé
par un petit chemin de fer. Maintenant les tranchés sont remplies d'eau
avec des jolies nénuphars et beaucoup d'animaux aquatiques
In the old days, the peat was excavated and taken
away by a light railway. Now the trenches are filled with water with
plenty of water lilies and aquatic wild life.
En arrêtant l'exploitation de la tourbe, on a
contribué à la préservation d'un habitât essentiel pour tant d'espèces
sauvages. Le compostage de déchets organiques a remplacé la tourbe pour
l'horticulture.
By stopping the mining of peat, a natural habitat
for
many wild animals has been preserved. Now compost made from recycling
waste organic materials has replaced peat for horticultural use.
Devant un bel étang, on a construit un écran en
bruyère séché dans lequel quelques fonts ont été coupé pour permettre
l'observation et prise de vues de grand nombre d'oiseaux sauvages.
In front of a fine lake, a screen of dried heather
has been constructed in which slots have been cut to allow the
observation and the photographing of numerous wild birds.
Ici les fleurs et plantes sauvages qu'on considère
comme des mauvaises herbes dans le jardin deviennent belles dans leur
contexte naturelle.
Here flowers and plants that would be considered as
weeds in the garden take on a natural beauty.
Cette terre est idéale pour la formation de ce
milieu si particulier à cause des brouillards et les pluies fréquent et
sa fraicheur de climat toute l'année. L'homme aussi a su en tirer
profit.
This land has been an ideal place to create
this medium so special, no doubt because of the fog and humidity and
it's coolness all the year round. Mankind too has benefited from it.
Le canal d'Herretang draine les marécages vers le
Guiers mort. Les pêcheurs y trouvent leur bonheur avec une abondance de
truites. Les demoiselles y trouvent un habitât idéale.
The Herretang canal drains the water into the Guiers
mort river. There fishermen find their pleasure with an abundance of
trout. The demoiselles too find a perfect home.
